Pedestrian accidents are unfortunately a common occurrence in Phoenix and surrounding areas. At Select Law, we are experienced and trained to investigate your injury claim immediately. This includes obtaining witness reports, Police reports, the at-fault party’s statement, and communicating with insurance so you can focus on healing.

WHAT DO I DO AFTER A PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT?

  1. Call The Police Immediately

It is important to have the Police on the scene immediately. This allows the Police to investigate the accident, obtain a statement from everyone involved, and obtain witness statements. Statements can help with your compensation claim. They also help to avoid having the at-fault party change his or her statement later.

2.  Seek Medical Treatment Immediately

Inform each and every doctor about all the pain you are feeling no matter how minor it may be. This allows proper documentation by the doctors and for proper testing to be performed. Remember: headaches, dizziness or vomiting may be a sign of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) so make sure you talk to your doctor about these symptoms.

3.  Call Select Law

Contact us as soon as you can so we can begin our investigation. Remember: DO NOT TALK TO ANY INSURANCE COMPANY before speaking to an attorney and DO NOT GIVE A RECORDED STATEMENT. These statements are often used against you and are not for your benefit. DO NOT SIGN A MEDICAL AUTHORIZATION. There is no benefit for you to sign an authorization. The authorization allows the insurance company to obtain your medical records from your prior doctors and use this information against you.
